Rules
POWERPLAY Game Modifications WMI 2024
Critical Rules
1. All safety rules must be strictly followed. This includes <GS13> restrictions on the human player
2. The spirit of Gracious Professionalism MUST be demonstrated by all teams. <G30> still applies.
Modified Rules
1. The ground junctions in front of the substations and terminals are preloaded with cones from the opposing alliance. De-scoring these cones is a major penalty
2. <GS5> would be amended so that robots may de-score cones on the low, middle, and high junctions. Robots may only de-score one cone at a time. Major penalties for de-scoring in the terminals and ground junctions
3. <GS6> would be amended so that robots may only possess the opposing alliance’s cones for 5 seconds and only during de-scoring cones from junctions. A minor penalty will be assessed for every 5 seconds beyond that
4. <GS8> would be amended to prevent teams from blocking de-scoring attempts with the scoring attempts
5. The signal sleeve bonus would depend on using the official WMI signal sleeve. Team-made custom signal sleeves would no longer be eligible for the double bonus
6. Beacons would not be able to be de-scored and would protect all cones beneath them. Beacons can be deployed at any time during teleop instead of just during endgame. Major penalty for de-scoring beacons plus minor penalty for each cone de-scored below the beacon
7. The circuit bonus would be doubled to 40 points
Game structure
There will be 3 qualification matches, ranking will be by points (total match points of the alliance). Autonomous points will be the first tiebreaker, endgame points will be the second tiebreaker.
3. The top 1/3 of the teams would become the alliance captains. Alliance captains will not be allowed to pick other alliance captains in this competition
4. The alliance captains will then do a snake draft to pick 2 more teams to finish their alliances.
5. Alliances would then play a double-elimination tournament bracket
